iSON Group’s $300M Boost to Transform Philippines’ Digital Future

The Philippines is set to witness a significant boost in its digital infrastructure, thanks to a landmark investment from global technology conglomerate iSON Group. Over the next decade, the company is committing up to $300 million to construct 3,000 to 4,000 new telecom towers, a move that underscores growing confidence in the Philippine economy and supports the government’s push for inclusive, technology-driven growth. This initiative, announced following a high-level meeting between President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and iSON Group chair Vivek Gupta, is poised to reshape the country’s digital landscape, particularly in underserved rural communities.

At the heart of this investment is the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Common Tower Initiative, which aims to reduce infrastructure duplication and cut costs for mobile network operators. By building 300 to 400 towers annually, iSON Tower will not only widen coverage but also create high-quality jobs for Filipinos. Trade Secretary Cristina A. Roque emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “This investment is more than a vote of confidence in our economy—it is a partnership in nation-building. Their work in building telecom towers directly supports our goal of delivering reliable internet to remote communities while creating high-quality jobs for Filipinos.”

The project’s nationwide reach will accelerate digital access in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, benefiting thousands of contractors and workers. The DTI will assist iSON in securing approvals and incentives under the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) MORE and the Strategic Investment Priority Plan (SIPP). With 400 towers already built nationwide, iSON Group is positioning itself as a long-term partner in the Philippines’ digital transformation. Operations in 35 countries and a global workforce of over 20,000 further solidify the company’s commitment to the region.

This investment is not just about expanding connectivity; it’s about bridging the digital divide and fostering economic growth. As the Philippines continues to prioritize technology-driven development, initiatives like iSON Group’s telecom tower project will play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s future. By integrating cutting-edge infrastructure with sustainable practices, the construction industry can contribute to a more connected, inclusive, and resilient Philippines.
