RODOTEX’s Dual-Sided LED Panels Light Up Sustainable Advertising

In the bustling world of commercial signage and advertising, innovation often hinges on the delicate balance between aesthetics, functionality, and energy efficiency. A recent study published in the Annals of Engineering Sciences (Analele Științifice ale Academiei Române, Seria Științe Ingineresti) by Florin-Marian Dobrea, CEO of RODOTEX SRL, introduces a groundbreaking development in this arena: a dual-sided, uniformly illuminated signage panel that promises to revolutionize interior advertising spaces.

The research, conducted under the project “Innovation, Research and Construction of a Signal Production Factory,” funded by the POR N-E Regional Program, focuses on a sandwich-structured panel. This panel comprises PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) plates, backlit foils, and inscribed self-adhesive foil, all encased in a thin aluminum frame. The magic happens with a continuous LED strip placed on the upper edge, which ensures uniform luminescence on both sides of the visible surface through a clever play of light transmission and reflection.

“This technology is not just about brightening up spaces; it’s about doing so efficiently and elegantly,” says Dobrea. The panel’s design allows for low energy consumption, a slim profile of just 10-15 mm, WiFi connectivity, and modular cascade assembly, making it ideal for high-traffic interior environments.

The commercial implications for the energy sector are substantial. As businesses increasingly seek sustainable and cost-effective solutions, the demand for energy-efficient signage is on the rise. This innovative panel addresses that need head-on, offering a modern, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional signage.

The research underscores the potential for future developments in the field. As Dobrea notes, “The uniformity and efficiency of the lighting, combined with the panel’s modularity, open up new possibilities for dynamic and interactive advertising solutions.” This could pave the way for more sophisticated and energy-conscious signage systems, transforming how businesses communicate with their audiences.

The study, published in the Annals of Engineering Sciences, represents a significant step forward in the evolution of signage technology. It highlights the importance of interdisciplinary research and collaboration in driving innovation. As the industry continues to evolve, such advancements will be crucial in meeting the growing demand for sustainable and efficient advertising solutions.
